The team was born on May 14, 2016 in the beautiful Republic of Panama. It was founded by Fernando Candanedo a Chef student; Leonardo Fields, a university Professor and Norman Mayers, a retired US Army veteran Non-Commissioned Officer.
The Airsoft Sports Club - Advanced Reconnaissance Commandos, best known as ARC is an airsoft team focused on military simulation (MILSIM). The team simulates the organization and mode of operation of a special operations detachment. Task organized as a detachment, allows us to build operational teams based on specializations, just as Special Forces unit do and it encourage us to keep growing. The detachment is task organized in small operational teams consisting of 6 to 10 operators with specific skills sets or specializations. Each operator undergoes selection and qualification testing to determine what specialization is best suited for them based on their individual assessment.
These specializations are the Combat Specialist, the Surveillance Specialist, the Medical Support Specialist, Engineering Specialist, Communications Specialist and the Intelligence Specialist. Every operator must complete the Basic operator course, the Advanced Operator course and the Ranger Course (Advanced Scouting and Reconnaissance) in order to satisfy membership requirements and to be allowed to participate in specialization training.
Our intent is to improve our capabilities thru training in order to become a strong and capable team; we are far from been one of the best, there is still a lot to develop and learn. We are slowly growing and improving our skills as an effective team. We train to improve our individual skills and continuously maintain a training focus in order to become an efficient and effective operational sport team. As a team we participate in both local and international events around the world and regularly train and enjoy game play with other teams to improve our skills.
We have participated in international events such as Borderwar, an annual large scale Military Simulation conducted in the Czech Republic, were participants from all over the world come to gather to enjoy 36 hours of game play in a well-developed scenario were different factions compete against each other to complete objectives. Since 2017 we have had at least one member participate in the event and since then we have gain recognition in the European airsoft community. The chief has gone from been a team leader in Borderwar 9, to Platoon Leader in Border war 10 and most recently to Commander of the Special Assault Brigade in Borderwar 11. He has been ask to be the Commander for the Special Operations Group in Borderwar 12.
Our team is also a member of the United States Joint Task Force (USJTF) and its assigned to the Special Warfare Branch. Over the years we have contributed and shared ideas with teams all over the globe by becoming members of airsoft Forums where we voice our opinion about the sport and how to improve it.
As a team we have pride ourselves on our shooting skills and it made sense to consider involvement with the International Practical Shooting Confederation and take our skills to the next level. For now our focus is on action air with emphasis on pistols and rifles and we are hoping that a tournament be organized in Panama to give us a chance to demonstrate our capabilities.
ARC is managed and operates with very fundamental values and principles, we seek to develop a brotherhood that surpasses the team in order to become a family. It's all about taken care of each other on or off the field.
Integrity, Perseverance, Discipline, Loyalty, Dependability, Reliability, Honesty, Respect, Open-mindedness, Commitment, Service to Others, and above all Courage to always do the right thing, are some of the values and principles we seek to achieve and develop.
Honor is the basis of Airsoft game play and we at ARC strive to play in such a fashion. We refrain from displays of rage and call our hits no matter the circumstances. Immortality is not tolerated in the team and we believe that honest play can be fun and enjoyable. We build relationships based on the concept of a brotherhood within the airsoft community, we have no borders and we do not discriminate.
We hope that in the future we become a well-recognized, feared and respected team on the field. We will continue to train and strive for personal growth and leadership development.
The patch was design shortly after the birth of the team, we experience a period of good ideas and bad ideas until we found the right combination. The results was a patch we pride to call our own.
We wanted to combined aspects of our game style with concepts only found in real Special Missions units around the world. So we design it with that in mind. We decided to incorporate aspects of who we seek to be, by emphasizing principles and values by witch to live by.
HONOR for how we play
LOYALTY to team and each other
TEAM for how we operate

The sword and wings symbolize our ability to rise above danger (Angel that looks over us).
The blue background symbolizes loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust while the white represents purity of actions and the perfection we seek in all we do.
The grey circle represents our commitment to unity, the brotherhood we share and our desire to take care of each other.
The subdued version of the patch was implemented for wear with tactical uniform and gear while the color patch is worn for team marketing and general events and activities.
The patch is worn on the right arm with the special forces and ranger tab above once training is completed.
